Dear DeDe,

Last Saturday Paul Jensen drove down here to Northfield, and we had a
long (3+ hours) discussion of some of the recent issues and areas of
contention.

One thing he mentioned is that you were upset at something I had written
to you that apparently called into question your intelligence (or
something like that - Paul didn't have an exact reference).

That seemed unlikely -- Mensa is a somewhat unusual group in that
anybody who is a member has by definition proved their intelligence up
front. Pointless to question it.

However, although I thought I was trying to argue the issues on their
own merits, e-mail isn't so good at putting in nuances (or keeping them
out, sometimes). I may well have phrased something poorly.

DeDe, I was trying to stay on the issues, but if there was anything in
what I wrote that you took as a personal attack, it was unintended, and
I'm sorry for it.

Sincerely,

Al
