Bob, I can appreciate the logic behind your comment
that:
"Here is another item from his website, dated July 31, 2006.
He himself put this up on his own website.
But he claims he knew nothing about any Hearings actions against
himself."
However, I wanted to write back specifically about
this as there is a
bit of innuendo in it, and your conclusion was incorrect.
Last spring, I not only decided that I had to "triage"
my postal mail in
order to get some important things done around here. I also was
similarly harsh on my e-mail, and have a huge backlog of discussion
lists and vendor newsletters to catch up on this fall.
More to the point, I had to swear off all magazines
for the duration,
and I love to read magazines. I have two boxes in my office. The
larger one holds months of unread Mensa Bulletins, AARP, Grammy
Magazine, Telicom, Consumer Reports, and the like.
The smaller one is full of Vidya, Ellery Queen's
Mystery Magazine,
Alfred Hitchcock Mystery Magazine, and Mensagendas.
In short, when I became aware of all of this Hearings
actions stuff, I
took some time to pull all the Mensagendas out of the box, scan through
the front sections, and actually read through the board meeting
minutes. Where I found items relevant to this ongoing dispute, I
updated that subweb page to keep it current.
Don't forget the print publishing time lag. Those
minutes of the July
31, 2006 board meeting were published in this month's (September '06)
Mensagenda, which I received in the mail over a week after I had read
Dave's 5/10/06 letter to me and responded to it.
So your logic was fine, but your conclusion was
incorrect. I didn't
know about this Hearings action until I read Dave's first letter to me.
Sincerely,
Al Heigl
Webmaster,
Minnesota Mensa
