Background:
Paul's first column as LocSec appeared in the July, 2005 edition of Mensagenda. DeDe Tredinnick also submitted her regular column, The Harried Housewife. Read the email chain that Paul generated over this and ask yourself- why is Paul putting up such a fuss over a continuing column?

Hi Board members,
Bill told me Wednesday that he had decided to continue DeDe's LocSec column "Harried Housewife" in the July Mensagenda issue, even though her resignation was effective May 31st.
DeDe's group is billing this as her resignation column. Based on her personal attack emails, perhaps we can expect a bit more.
This decision seems to have been made in advance of the Board meeting.
If she wants to write a letter of thanks, fine. But a column?
How do the rest of you feel about Bill's decision? No matter how you 'honey-dip' it, the action will appear politically motivated and possibly a violation of editorial integrity, whether it is, or not.
May we discuss this via email?
Paul Jensen

As a point of information, DeDe's column has always been named "The Harried Housewife." DeDe has indicated a desire to continue writing a column called "The Harried Housewife."
Designation as a LocSec column has been made primarily by its location in the newsletter. There's been nothing in the header or subhead identifying it as a LocSec column.
As is traditional, page 3 of the newsletter will be set aside for the current LocSec.

Well, Bill, I guess that is a great idea to have another regular columnist. I assume she will do a fine job commenting on her varied interests!
I apologize. When you called it 'her final locsec column' during our
conversation, I thought that's what it was to be. I just kinda took your word for it, Bill. Sorry...
Nice scrambling by the Family!

distinctly told you I was reserving page 3 for your column and moving DeDe's column to page 4. As to identifying her column, it would only take a quick glance at a newsletter to see it was not identified as a LocSec column.
I'm puzzled by the references to "DeDe's group" or "the Family." There's no one here but me.

Hi all,
Bill Conlan is editor of the Mensagenda, and I support his exercise of editorial integrity. He has the choice to insure the extent to which the proposed column accurately reflects the actual resignation submitted by choice from DeDe Tredinnick to the Board of Minnesota Mensa.
Bill does not recognize any threats to himself by me, per our recent conversation.
The Board action to unanimously accept DeDe Tredinnick's letter of resignation as submitted to the Board on May 25th - and later reconfirmed - is now complete. She is no longer a member of the Board in any position, and no longer holds any appointive position.
Perhaps it is appropriate for the Mensagenda editor to post the relevant Board Meeting minutes section in a position immediately adjacent to her column noting her resignation. As Loc Sec, I feel this is an important clarification. But that is the choice of the editor.
DeDe is of course welcome to attend - as an interested Minnesota Mensa Group member - and to request time on our member forum at any Board meeting.
We all wish her well.

Paul,
...
As to the request [to include the Board Minutes opposite DeDe's column], I will exercise editorial judgement and produce the best newsletter I can as I have for the nearly 7 years I've held the position
